Welcome to Auckland Wine Trail Tours, voted New Zealand's Best Wine Tours in the 2010, 2012 & 2013 "TravellerVoted Awards" and winner of TripAdvisor's "Certificate Of Excellence" in 2012 & 2013.
We are the original Auckland wine tasting tour offering you Auckland's most experienced specialist wine guide on our small group, usually 4 to 8 people, personalised, Day & Half Day wine tours. 100% NZ owned & operated.
Our tours visit wineries & vineyards in the Kumeu, Huapai & Waimauku (West Coast) wine area and the Matakana (East Coast) region.
In August 2010, 2012 & 2013 tourism web site 'Rankers' announced it's "TravellerVoted" Awards. These awards are decided on by tourists entering reviews and ranking their experiences. We are delighted to have been voted winners of "Best Wine Tour In New Zealand" category three times now and thank all our guests who entered their reviews.
We are also delighted to have been awarded a 'TripAdvisor' "Certificate Of Excellence" for 2012 & 2013. An award which also rewards the consistent top ratings of our reviews from our customers... many thanks to everyone for their great comments!
These days travellers rely greatly on the reviews & comments of
others on various web sites. I trust you'll be assured of both the
quality of our service and the wineries we visit if you take a look at

|Cruise Ship Wine Tours
have taken many people on our wine tasting tours who are visiting
Auckland on a cruise. We realise ships offer shore excursions but we
believe a local, specialist, guide and a small group tour is much
better value... and our prices, in NZ$$, are better value too! You're
picked up depending on where your ship ties up; on the steps of the
Hilton Hotel on Prince's Wharf (click here
for diagram) or Shed 10 on Queen's Wharf (click here
for diagram) or your city hotel, and returned there (on time or a
little early!) after your tour.
Tour pick up/departure & return times can be arranged to suit your
ship's schedule and we guarantee to get you back on time!
help you select your tour here is a brief explanation of the
differences between the two main regions we visit, Auckland's West
Coast, Kumeu, Huapai & Waimauku area and the East Coast's
is where NZ's wine industry was founded by pioneering settlers from the
Mediterranean coast of Croatia over 100 years ago. It is an area
steeped in local wine history and features many heritage wineries.
Wineries in this region source grapes from their own local vineyards in
the West Auckland area as well as New Zealand's other grape growing
regions including Marlborough & Central Otago in the South Island
and Hawke's Bay & Gisborne in the North Island.
This means they have a wide range of different types of grapes growing
in optimum conditions (soil types and climates) from which they produce
a wide variety of wine types, this is what we call the "New
Zealand wide wine tasting experience".
There is a wide selection of large, long established, wineries and
small to medium sized boutique wineries. With the most experienced wine
tour guide we customise your tour to your tastes and interests.
North East of Auckland, is one of New Zealand's newest and smallest
wine areas. All the wineries of Matakana are small, 'boutique',
producers growing a wide selection of grapes on their own local
'estate' vineyards including NZ's only Carmenere and our only winery
making exclusively Sangiovese & Dolcetto. There is also Pinot Gris,
Chardonnay, Voignier, Syrah (Shiraz), Cab' Sav', Merlot, Malbec, Cab'
Franc, Pinotage & Pinot Noir.
Ocean views, rivers, beaches & bays, beautiful countryside plus the
option of a range of interesting side trips feature along the way.
