Spend the morning soaking up views of our lush sub tropical Waitakere rainforest with Tasman Sea and city panoramas. Experience the isolated beauty and splendour of KareKare's, magnetic, black iron sand surf beach pounded by the Tasman Sea (location for The Piano, TV's Zena & Hercules). Take a short walk to a beautiful waterfall. See native Kauri, Rimu & Pohutokawa trees, Nikau palms and Punga 'Silver Fern' trees. Visit the Arataki Heritage Centre and see the stunning 360 degree Tasman to Pacific views from the Waitakere ranges summit.
